I remember watching a discovery or national geographic channel series on how people judge beauty in another person and why they are attracted. They mentioned the symmetry of the face, complexion, hair quality, etc.
While I can accept that, how do people judge beauty of things other than humans?
Even in looking at animals, what makes one person think pugs are cute while the other might think they're basically furry raisins with legs.
More importantly, why is it that when people sit on a beach and watch the sunset, or look out from a moutain top, see an endless blue sky over a green field, or watch a blanket of fresh snow in the morning find the scenes so beautiful. I mean technically it's just a bunch of sand, saltwater, and a glowing orange orb. Some trees and the color blue. Or just frozen water. Is it just the combination of the shapes and colors, or is it something learned. I mean if you put a really young child or baby in these situations, they might care less. But what along the way teaches us to appreciate these things?
Anyway, just one of those things that randomly popped into my head.
